Days 58,59 & 60
I haven't done my blog for a few days. I didn't do it on Sunday as the only thing I had to write was that my Mum, Bec and my niece Lydia arrived safe and well. It has been lovely to see them but our activities were the same as usual: swimming, swimming and more swimming, but this time with new company.
I didn't write yesterday as I was too tired. Yesterday we did do something different. We had a great day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We booked a tour out to the Quicksilver pontoon and spent the day snorkeling. The kids even had a great time snorkeling way out in the ocean, they didn't want to go out after lunch though so mum took all 4 kids on the semi submersible whilst Darren, Bec and I went out for another snorkel. The funniest thing was when Rebecca nearly swam above the water trying to get away from a rather large fish. Darren and I on the other hand were following the fish trying to have a good look. It's become the latest joke of the holiday.
Once back on land we had dinner at Port Douglas before returning very tired and ready for showers and bed.
Today we spent the day at the park again. This time we had a game of mini golf, which Darren won of course, and then the kids hired go-carts before swimming again in the afternoon.
Mum and I went to a cheese and bikkies hour put on by the park late this afternoon. I was the youngest there by far but none the less enjoyed talking to people and hearing about their travels. I enjoy getting the perspective from others on how they decide where to go, how long to go for, etc.
Tonight we watched Bee Movie on the parks big screen but we got a little wet this time as it started to sprinkle a little.
Tomorrow we are catching the scenic rail up to Kuranda.
