Haven't update in a while..a lots happened so gunna struggle to remember it all!Char has been making nightly entries into our diary so we can write this more easily but we keep forgetting to bring it with us..oooops :D
Urmm where to start...
Since our last entry we spent a few more days in Mae Nam relaxing in our bungalow and by the pool which was niceee but a bit quiet so we decided to move to the more lively side of the island for a change of scenery! We packed up all our stuff..(not a fan of all this packing!) and jumped on a crazy taxi thing and headed 15 mins down the road to Chaweng where we are staying in a room at the Coconut Grove which is'nt as swish as our bungalow but we just sneak in and use the pool and steal the sunbeds on the beach at the resort/bar/restaurant the Ark Bar where we've been spending most of our time :D We thought our room was alright until Skin and Nath returned from there trip to Koh Tao and pointed out all its faults (the toilet seat & lid have fallen off, only 1 of the 5 spotlights works, the wall light above Jen and Chars bed fell down and is now hanging by a wire, the aircons a bit dodgy and the view of the sea from our balcony is interupted by large JCBs and truck loads of builders..scenic :D) but its not thatttt bad!
Since being in Chaweng we have had some funny days/nights and met some very funny people! At night on the beach you get crazy little girls trying to sell you flower necklaces..they can be quite forceful (one poked me in the kidneys and then called me a ladyboy! I was not happy!) but are very cute! Char got bought one by a table of creepy mexicans and then a rich man bought us all one..we had a nice little collection going but the flowers began to wilt!
The nightlife here is pretty insane! We ywent to the Green Mango the local club where char got groped by a greasy topless man doing the limbo..not attractive! We went back a second time and Skin Tet and Nath all got up on stage and danced like crazy people! Ahhhh theres a cat on my keyboard! Anywayy carrying on!
One night we decided to venture down the beach where we found cheap cocktails which we sat and drank whilst watching a man throw fire around and got hasrrased by teh cute girls, after this nice relaxing drink we hit the shops (which are open pretty much all night) and manged to convince tet to get her belly button pierced (we like to think its out powers of persuasion that made her do it but I'm pretty sure it was more the cocktails than anything!) so we headed out to one of the millions of tattoo places and made friends with the 2 guys working there...managed to get it cheaper because (as always!) it was HAPPY HOURRR!
One of our favourite things about Chaweng is the diverse selection of food..open 24 hours and free delivery! Mcdonalds Burger King and Pizza Hut have never been so appealing! Chars in food heaven! :P
Last night we venture across the lake into the classy side of town where we were greeted by swarms of thai girls (or boys..you never know with these people!) dressed in very very little and all offering cheap drink..we bypassed and headed to the infamous Reggae Pub which was possibly the funniest night ever! We sat and waited for the music act (an all thai reggae band dressed in cooirdinating army clothing!) which was amusing enough..the real entertainment howver came from the crowd of oldies bustin their moves on the dance floor..they had us in fits and we all manged to identify one that reminded us of our parents..provided endless entertainment! Then things got a bit crazy as the reggae band moved away from Bob Marley and began rapping along to a bit of Flo Rida, Shakira and various other amusingly translated tchunes! This brought out the crazys in the crowd and char got continually molested by some horrendous fat thai man who just would not leave us alone! Apparently screaming and shooing them away isnt as affective as it is back home! Either that or theyre just very very persistant! I don't think the language barrier is much help either because how ever many times char screamed 'NO!!! JUST GO AWAY!' he didnt seem to understand! Pretty sure we were the only sober ones in the reggae bar but it sure was amusing watching everyone else! I fell deeply in love with an afro boy in the band..his dance moves were just toooo coool! Once we decided to leave it was back through Ladyboy town where Tet got ambushed by some very strange Thai girl (we're almost 100& sure she was all female) who simply linked arms and walked along with her..not saying a word..before wandering off in a different direction..very bizzarre!
Today we've just been chilling in the sun but as always we met some crazy crazy people! On the beach you get people coming round and selling ice cream and bracelets (we're gunna see how many we can get by the end of our trip!) and we've made friends with one ice cream man...he sings and raps and is so so funny! But today me and Char were constantly harrased by two young ice cream entrepeneurs who giggled at us a lot, called us beautiful and made fun of a group of gay chinese men near by..it was all very very funny!
Tonight we're having an early night (off to the ocal mexican for dinner mmm fajitas!)because tomorrow night we're hopping on a speed boat and zooming over to Koh Pagang for the Full Moon Party wahoooo!
I'm sure we will update afterwards and might have some more from the last week to fill in..we'll try and remember to bring our book down with us but reliabilty has never been our strong point haha (reassuring I know :p)
Anywaysss time is money and chars hungry (no change there!) so until next timee
Lots of love to alllll
If we don't update for a while its because we're recovering from our all night party :D
