What a day we had in Christchurch! We packed a lot of tourism into 12 hours! We started off going about 15 minutes out of Christchurch centre to get the Gondola, this had great views and at the top was a cute little ride that went through the history of Christchurch. We stopped for coffee at the top before heading back down and to the city.
Then we went for a punt along the river Avon. This went through some of the botanical gardens which were pretty. The punt last half an hour and was really relaxing! We even got hot water bottles and blankets to keep us warm!
The third stop of our day was a tour on a buggy car that looked like a caterpillar. This was about an hour long and we went round most of the garden and saw some of the winter plants and some bare trees!
Finally we we to the Canterbury museum and looked at the Antarctica exhibition as well as the early settlers information and an old replica street from the 1900's.
We met up with Donald and Kura (friends of Claudias) who we will be staying with in Wanaka for dinner and stayed in a motel with them.
