So after an amazing 8 days in the Cook Islands its time to head back to Auckland and then onto London and back to reality! For our last day in Hawea/Wanaka we went for a long drive around Lake Hawea which was beautiful. It was such a nice day! It had snowed the night before so the mountains looked stunning covered in snow and the sky was clear and blue! This weekend we visited one of the 8 wonders of the world; Milford Sound! WOW! What a place! We arrived on Sunday night after a five hour drive from Wanaka and checked into the Milford Lodge (one of the only accommodation places in Milford! The town was tiny! Today we were so tired so we didn't do anything in the morning! We packed up a picnic and headed to Mt Iron for a 2 hr walk to the summit which had great views and it was such a clear and sunny day!

Today we visited the steepest street in the world which is called Baldwin Street. Then we went to see the university for a little while before starting the long journey back to Wanaka!
