So after an amazing 8 days in the Cook Islands its time to head back to Auckland and then onto London and back to reality!
We arrived in the Cook Islands on Friday having gone across the international date line giving us two Friday 30th August! We ariived to find that it was raining! But this wouldnt stop us from enjoying our first cocktail of the week!
We spent the rest of the week sunbathing and reading! I managed to read 6 books over the week! We barely left the hotel the whole time, however for the few times we did i'll say what we did!
On Saturday we went to Rarotonga's market which happenes once a week just outsode of town. We spent a couple hours there as it was pretty big and had lots of stalls and so much to see! We bought a couple of souvenirs like bracelets and gifts for home!
On Tuesday evening we went to Te Vara Nui Village and watched a cultural show and had a massive Polynesian dinner. This was very cool and one of the best things about Rarotonga! The traditional cultural show was very good and the dancing and storytelling was amazing!
On Thursday we went to a food market about 20 minutes away from our hotel on the beach the market was on the beach which was awesome and we had a really yummy coconut curry for dinner!
The only other times we went out were in the evening to get dinner from the little fish and chip shop next to the hotel which sold amazing fish and chips and was on a old abandoned boat which was cool!
We met some really nice people on our trip to the Cook Islands too! Everyone was really friendly and the weather stayed good for almost all the trip!
Love Sophie x
