Day 9 - 14 Ho Chi Minh City
Hi All,
Sorry been out of touch for a while. We've been in Ho Chi Minh City for about four days. It's been lovely here, we really like it here; the atmosphere, the buildings, the food, not the staring though. Think the staring is probably due to the fact that it's an oriental with a westerner!! They probably think I am a Thai bride.
First day we were here Chris wasn't too well, so we ended up staying in the hostel watching cheesy movies. The owners were lovely and made rice soup for Chris to eat, and told him not to eat food from the outside.....
Second day we toured the city, saw some of the sights we passed three set of bride and grooms taking photos outside the post office. Must be one of those to do things. We went to the war remnents museum which was quite harrowing but very America hating.
Third day we did a tour to the Cu Chi tunnels, which was very interesting, our tour guide was very funny even making controversal jokes about thai brides and the japanese tsunami. We went into the tunnels (the part made for tourists that is twice the size of the real ones) we only went along 20m and had to get out.. luckily Chris didn't get stuck.
Fourth day - today we went to the pier and a walk around the posh part of town.. lots of designer shops we couldn't afford. Then we went to the zoo, we've never been so close to some animals before - elephants, tigers, lions, and bears.. The animals were kept in quite small enclosures and with not much of a barrier between the animal and the people.. scary....
off to Mui Ne tomorrow for some sun, sand, and sea...
much love
