Today was my Notting Hill day! I've always wanted to go to Portobello Road and see the area that the movie was based in, in real life. It wasn't market day (needed to be here on Saturday!) but there were plenty of antique shops and tourists walking around. I saw the house that George Orwell lived in when first arriving at Portobello Rd, and then I walked around to the different parts from the movie, Notting Hill. It doesn't quite look the same as most of the movie was sets but it had the right feeling to it. The famous blue door isn't blue, it's black! The travel bookshop is closed so that was a bit sad :(
I managed to have about an hour before having to head for the train to find Abbey Road too. It cost me £5 on the tube to get there and back, but I can tick it off my list. Just as I found it, a group of backpackers were trying to do the walk- the traffic must be used to it and very patiently waited for them. I got a good photo! I crossed it too.. Just not like the Beatles.
London is amazing, but you just can't appreciate it in one or two days.. There is so much to absorb!
Home back to Coventry tonight.. And back to school on Monday
