Wow!!! The best castle I have seen yet :) Dover Castle in Kent is practically untouched, apart from being redecorated inside the great tower, the original walls and tunnels are pretty much as they were 700 years ago.
I had a great day- weather was windy and a bit wet but not worth whinging about, I went on the ghost walk tour with a bunch of little vampires and witches (being close to Halloween they had family activities and dress ups!) and I managed to do the secret underground hospital tour, including the 75 steps up from 15m below the grounds.. That was a killer- probably because just before that I did about 200 steps up to the roof of the Great Tower! My poor knees!!
A long day, nearly got lost trying to find the bus back to Folkestone from Dover but thank God for google maps and GPS capabilities on my phone hehehe..
I'm exhausted and going to have a restful weekend- its been a great week though!
