I decided to spend February half term in London, there is so much to see and I had a few things I definitely wanted to cross off my list and while again, it's annoying being alone- it was also good because I could do my own thing. Monday afternoon once I checked into my perfectly located hotel I caught the tube up to Camden Town. I love markets and I wish that one day I can go to one with the purpose of shopping and spending money on whatever I want haha.. Not this time, I had to remind myself I was going to have to lug anything I buy home on the train and that gave me the perspective I needed. I did however buy an amazing piece of home made vegetarian pizza with courgettes, aubergines and red peppers (translated: zucchini, eggplant and capsicum) and it was only £1.80 and huge!
Tuesday I tackled the south bank, I've only wandered around the London Eye part and not as far as Tower of London. I stopped in at Tate Modern (I still don't get modern art) and the Globe Theatre that was really really cool!
I couldn't afford to go into many attractions so the rest of the time was looking from the outside and going in to the free ones. Wednesday I had the chance to catch up with a friend from home who's been teaching in England for 3 years, I haven't seen her for 18 months so it was lovely to chat and have a wander with her all day. We saw the changing of the guard (the first part) and then had coffee at Starbucks, followed by a wander through Harrods, which is as impressive as one would think, then lunch and the Victoria and Albert Museum... Only the first two levels- its huge!
My feet are killing me, I'll do another update separate from this one for today's activities... Stay tuned!
