Today we decided to return to Chat Chu Chak market with 3 other tour members, though this time we took a tourist boat which allowed us to see even more of the city sights. We did loads more shopping, barely having time to stop for lunch, before heading back to the hotel to leave for the sleeper train to Chaing Mai at 4.30pm. The station itself was a maze of food stalls, and the train was very comfortable with massive seats which turned into huge beds with curtains, very cosy! Nextdoor to us was the 'club cart', a bar which later turned into a disco with flashing lights and a dj playing very cheesy english music! We met a lovely Thai guy who entertained us with his dancing, and two rather worse for wear German men who decided to put on a Full Monty show for everyone. We stayed up late drinking and chatting with our fun tour leaders and new friends from the group. As it was such a popular tour we had 27 people in total, split into two groups for certain activites, so plenty of socialising!
