For the first time in over 3 months, I met someone I had met previously. I had met Rajuben for about 15-30 minutes for the first time a day or two before I began this trip. Rajuben and her sister Bhartiben looked after me during my stay in Surat. For a couple of days, I could relax and not worry about logistics.
Rajuben arranged a car and driver to take me to the ghaams to meet the family. My fathers oldest remaining aunt had passed away a few days after I left SA and I went to her house first. Next stop was my maternal grandmother's sisters house. Palima is 96 years old and turns 97 in the next month or two. I met a number of my uncles and aunts whose names I had heard previously but never met. I still can't remember who is who though.
Had to do some shopping for the family the next day. Also saw a few malls.
On the last morning, I had obviously wound the agents up as they were there to pick me up at 6.30am instead of the agreed 7am. The hotel was 10 minutes from the airport so we left the hotel at 6.45 and I was already checked in and waiting in the boarding area by 7.15. Managed to get my suitcase to exactly 20kg and my backpack was 8.4kg!
