Hiya
I didn't get the chance to get to an internet acfe yesterday as was too busy lazing by the pool or having a massage! The taxi was late collecting us so missed out on a whole extra hour of being pampered. The resort was out of this world and for the first time in nearly a week, I had a soft seat to sit on! Abby and I were greeted and treated to a glass of something... (didn't like to ask what it was). We then got shown into changing rooms and then into the jauzzi area where we had to spend 15 minutes before going into the sauna. After that we were shown to a room with two massage tables, one for me and one for Abby. She had a salt scrub and I had a coffee scrub which smelt delicious. After that we showered and then went back in for an aromatherapy massage. It was so lovely and realxing and for the first time in a week felt clean! We staggered drunkenly out of there and had lunch by the pool. We only had about an hour on the sun loungers before the sun started going down but we stayed there until we had to order dinner which we had on the terrace under the stars. (The Carlyon Bay had nothing on this place). We rode back to the centre at 9.30 on the back of a pick up truck!!! Within half an hour of getting up this morning, all their hard work at getting us clean had gone and we were as mucky as ever!
Today has been hard. As we had yesterday off, they punished us by making us do the housekeeping (the second time for me in 4 days). It's a really unfair way of doing things and with 25 volunteers, then it should be more farly distruibuted. Abby and I were also on baby and pony duty which come around about every 4 days. We were told at 3pm that we had to go out on the truck gatherng more food for the baby elephant and didn't get back until 5.30, only to be told that tonight was a pasta night and we had to cook for everyone else!!! To say I was mad would be an understatement. We are not supposed to leave the centre after dinner so it meant that I wouldn't get the chance to come down to the village but Felix, the nice Spanish guy and I sneaked off anyway!
Anyway, I'm battered, bruised and cut from all the long grass we had to gather as we didn't get the chance to change. I have a very patchy suntan and am thinking about going to Cha-am to the beach, possibly leaving the centre for good the early part of this week, but will keep you all posted! I've tried to upload a few more photos but it keeps crashing the computer! I will try anotehr night.
Take care all and I hope the snow isn't too bad!
