Pete went down for breakfast alone, I stayed in bed just a little bit longer.......
Once he was back I got up and we left together, him to head over to the convention hall me to the lobby to do a bit of catching up on emails etc until we left for our brunch. While waiting Harvey finally arrived, driving rain on the atrium ceiling and thunder. It was then I decided to go back up and change, not the weather for a summer dress and leather sandals!
It had eased off by the time we set off but not so much we wanted to be walking in it so taxi it was. We arrived at Antoines and passing a jazz trio were escorted to the back, to the last room. It's named after the inventor of tobassco as it's where he always dined, a smallish room with a table set for the five of us.
We had an awesome lunch, very fine dining, very olde world complete with older southern waiter.
At one stage the jazz trio came in our room and sang happy birthday then come on home bill bailey. How special is that?
After lunch we got a private tour of the restaurants many rooms all adorned with photos and momentous from past visitors. We were also shown the secret entrances and exits from the days of prohibition.
The Joshis and I grabbed a cab and the other ladies went off to shop. I went straight to the exhibition hall, found Pete and we went around and finalised some stuff, the t shirts to sell, picked up the synergy gizmo and some mags.
Slowly made our way out saying goodbyes along the way and back, fully loaded up to the hotel.
We did our best to get everything into the two suitcases we brought. It's not going to happen, a third will have to be bought. It's more weight vs volume and the magazines are responsible for that but they're too good to leave even though they were free. Some we will sell, others we will put I with orders as we ship them - everyone loves something for nothing!
Down to the bar to catch up one last time, at one point someone dropped the word re my birthday and they brought out a bread pudding with a candle.
By 11 we had had more than enough and headed up to try and watch the evenings Game of Thrones; we didn't make it far before we were asleep
