We both woke crazy early, 3.15 or so. Breakfast starts at 6.30 and we were the first there lol
The buffet was insanely good and we both ate too much.
Back to our room and a short kip turned out to be u til 3pm! We don't seem to be adjusting as well as usual this year.
A quick Google and we headed off in search of a bottle store. We get 25% off in the bar but the prices are still more than we are looking to pay for every drink. It's warm, much like our summers but doable.
Back to the hotel and we stashed out cider in the fridge before heading off to the convention centre. We did not think there would be too much going on but wanted to see who was about.
We walked through the Riverside outlet shopping centre, about a ten minute journey through excess consumerism. Here and there samples were thrust upon us of moisterurisers etc the last part had river views just before we popped out into the heat for the last couple of hundred meters. The convention centre is massive, by far the biggest we've been to yet. Another conference was finishing up in the first few halls and just past a big food hall we found our lot setting up. They were all busy so we didn't stay but at least we know our way for tomorrow.
Retracing our steps we passed a New Orleans Mardi Gras style character on stilts, not sure what that was about and as we approached the exit to the complex we found Boomer on his way in.
He joined us on our journey back to the he hotel. Along the way we stopped for a snack, by now it was nearly 6pm, a long time since that early breakfast!
We walked along side the river for the short stretch that we could, taking in the view of the Mississippi.
We made it as far as the bar and that's as far as we got. We were joined by a few different people as they wandered in; badg. and his crew, both Kevin's, Walt & Deb, both Jim's, Randy and his family. Michelle, Craig and their baby had dinner down below us, we stopped and said hi but not much more.
We grabbed another snack, burger for Pete, wings for me about 11pm before making a slow exit, stopping as we saw others like Marc to say hi.
Finally back in our room after midnight, watched a show and crashed out.
Tomorrow the MACNA experience really begins.
