France
Hit France and cruised down the coast till we found a nice place to stay, which happened to be an aire. These are usually free and some have services such as water, waste water disposal etc. Next day we wandered down the coast stopping along the way at the beautiful little townships. Stopped off at Rouen for lunch before heading towards Paris.
Sue found a campground for us to stay reasonably near so we could use the public transport. Found the campground only to find that it was full. The people there recommended another one and phoned ahead to book for us. We forgot that it is the school holidays here and every place within 30 kms off Paris is full and very EXPENSIVE. The next day we got up early to beat the crowds. Found the local train station and 30mins later we were in the middle off Paris.
We spent the rest of the day sauntering around this amazing city. So much easier to find your way around than London. We went to the Louvre, Eifel Tower, Notre Dame and saw some great sights as we walked around.. One thing we noticed as we walked around was the width of the roads. They tended to be very wide and lined with magnificent trees which perhaps gave the feeling that it was not so crowded. We got back to the campground around 6.30 absolutely bu-------ed.
Next day we headed towards Versailles where we found this great little market. Bought all sorts of goodies including fresh vege, some locally made duck and pork sausages and local cheese. Tried to get into the palace off Versailles but the queue was about 200 meters long so we flagged it and headed towards the Loire River valley.
