19 July. Hello from Scotland. Seen as the landscape is lush and very green, as you might imagine, there is lots of rain. It's also cooler with highs around 20 - 25 degrees and lows around 10 degrees. We are over the rain now!!! Will be back in England tomorrow and heading south so it will slowly warm up again. The scenery in Wales & Scotland is breath taking but the traffic is horrendous. Imagine 60 million people living in N.Z. Civic pride runs very high here. Lawns are mowed, gardens are beautiful and highways are neatly trimmed on the sides. Leafy roads are everywhere. The trees are trimmed to truck height and then left to grow forming tunnels of trees. The small villages are very tidy and pretty.
Today we went to St Andrews, the home of golf and where the British Open finished only yesterday. Peter walked on the Hallowed Ground and we have the photo to prove it. He also has a cap. It was raining so we didn't stay long. Many people were playing golf; Peter thought it may have been a sponsor's day. Evidence of the big event where everywhere, tents, portable food, sponsors marquees and trucks everywhere doing the big clean up.
23 July. In London and planning our day out tomorrow. It's cloudy and very cool so hope it warms up a little for tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing it all again and may do second day if needed. We've found a nice camp ground about an hour out of the central city and its not too expensive so can spend the extra night.
