Hello!!!
We are now back in Kuta, where we started out in October. Kind of crazy to us that we have almost been gone a month!!! We are staying in the 'heart' of the travellers scene here and it is CRAZY!!! It can be described as Vegas crammed into one way streets. People are partying until all hours, drinking all day and nursing a hangover on the beach. For the next few days, we are going to laze on the beach and take turns trying to surf and then have few beers and check out the crazy nightlife. Leave early in the morning on Nov. 11 for Macau.
We had a great adventure to Lovina, in northern Bali. Steve rented a 110cc Honda and we headed up through the mountains, through the back roads at the beginning of the trip. The scenery was beautiful and it was much cooler. I got the majority of the bumps and a short way into the 3 hour trip my butt was already sore! We made it, though. Lovina was nice. Black sand beaches and a fishing area so not as 'picturesque'. We splurged and had a room with air con and a fantastic pool. Lounged there for 2 days.
We were fortunate and were able to attend a Hindu festival with the owners of our guesthouse. The first evening in Lovina Steve and i followed Gede to his home. Once there, Gede had to get us dressed to go in the temple. This means Steve got outfitted in a yellow saring, one of Gede's white dress shirts (much too short in the arms) and a head wrap. I had a much harder time!! I also had a sarong and to this day I am not sure why it took 3 guys trying to tie me up. Then came a long sleeved shirt... I am obviously more endowed in one area than many asian women and it took 3 different shirts to get one to fit!! The funny thing was that thy were trying VERY hard to snap up a shirt that was NOT going to fit. We will post pics later and you will see. Anyway, once we were dressed and looking our best, we went to the temple and had a great time.
Hope everyone is well, we are very excited about heading to Macau/Hong Kong/China. Steve is going to gamble in Macau (how can you not when it is the gambling capitol of the world!), we will eat great food, go to Disneyland in Hong Kong, shop and then jet into China to see some great sights. Happy to also head somewhere where it is a bit cooler and we will have air con (the little fans in our cheap rooms are just not cutting it!).
We will write and post pics once in Macau.
Loves and hugs!
Mo and Steve
