HELLO!!!!!!
We've been slacking a little on updating our blog and e-mails, so sorry to our devoted fans and here we go again!
welll, after surfing in kuta, we boarded a plane to Macau. While flying into the city it had a very vegas like feel. It reminded me of my first time in sin city, looking at all the massive casino's!! My first thought was "why on earth would people want to build such massive and expensive building's just 2feet above sea level?" well, i guess they know more than me, cause it looks crazy.
After wondering around the biggest casino in the world, 'the venetien'(i guess you could fit 90 boeing 747 planes on the main floor alone) I decided to try my luck at the poker aspect. Chinese do things very differently. I didn't know the language, but i learnt fairly quickly what "I fold" in chinese was (zhing- sha-taaooo)!! They bet sooo aggressively. after catching on that most people were bluffing, i won a couple descent pots. Until i ran into the dreaded three of a kind over a larger three of a kind!!!(i had pocket 10's, He had pocket AA's) OUch..... All my poker allowence (ok'd by my lovely wife) was gone!!!
The city was quite breathtaking. Old portugeuse buildings and cobble stone streets. And Natasha would have loved the flowers!!
Having sherry and Larry to show us the city and how to get around cheaply ($1 bus rides)
was awesome. We golfed at a world class golf club The macau golf and country club. Larry is a golf pro there, so we got a pretty good discount. wink wink. About 40 bucks each for a high end course with clubs is hard to turn down!! And the free lessons with a pro might have made Monique change her career thoughts. Larry said she's a natural!! And I think I did much better with all the tips!
One night They took us out to a party then to a night club. Just liike Vegas!! We partied away and before we knew it, 3 venue's later it was 6am!!!! Bottle service in Macau is different than vegas because it actuallly might be cheaper than buying rounds with 6 people!! Good thing we had no plans for the next morning/afternoon!!
After a day trip to xiu hei(sp)china, we decided to head to hong kong and travel by land to china for a few weeks! were only this close so many times in a life time. So it was decided. 3 days in hong kong, then CHINA!!
Hong kong was GREAT! We got our chinese and Vietnam visa's sorted out(sooo expensive) and wondered around the town. We went to "The peak " which offered the most breathtaking view of the city . Oh yeah, and we went to DISNEYLAND!! We had a "magical" day and went on a couple rides and took photo's with all the character's!! The smallest of the Disneylands and it did not have crazy rides like we thought. Only Space Mountain which we went on lots of times.
So, After packing our bags, off to CHINA we go!!!
