Hello from rainy Chicago!
Today we had grand plans to go see the Chicago Cubs play the Colorado Rockies.
We awoke at 11:30AM (AGAIN!) to find that it was raining and pouring outside. Though the game was still on, we made an executive decision to stay in for the day.
John, who was supposed to be golfing, came home early because of the rain. He offered to take us out for lunch. So we got ourselves ready & headed out.
John took us to Chinatown & treated us to authentic Chinese food. We couldn't tell you the name of anything we ate, but it was delicious! We even used our chopsticks properly (Angie, Johnny & Jeph - aren't you proud of me!?)
After lunch, John insisted on taking us to a Chinese grocery store to see the LIVE turtles. We walked in and it REEKED of fish & something else disgusting. We saw dead, dried out fish, live crabs, live FROGS (ew!!!) & other strange animals. We ran out ASAP, never ever to return!
Next, we drove past "The Bean" (google it) and continued on to a REAL, American grocery store. During the drive, Nenna & John battled it out in the car over Metric System vs. American System. Both of them believe the others units of measurement are "stupid" or "don't make sense". Nenna was quoted as saying, "To me, your 5'10 sounds like 5 bananas & 10 apples," to which John agreed. I guess you just had to be there.
Once we arrived at the store, we grabbed supplies to make Hawaii Toast & Spetzi for dinner. Once arriving home, we prepared our things for traveling tomorrow & cooked dinner.
Again, we are SO thankful to have people willing to take us in & treat us like queens! We couldn't be more blessed!
Tomorrow, we are traveling onward to Cincinnati to enjoy Skyline Chili with our family & friends. Wish us luck on our last drive of the trip and we will see you all soon!
Kisses,
Steph + Nenna

Hallo aus dem verregnetem Chicago! Hello from rainy Chicago!
Bussis,
Nenna & Steph
