Stephen's Travels!
Hi Guys... So .... New Zealand! I arrived a little sad to be leaving the group in Oz but also so excited about this awesome country. I landed in Auckland to Cold and dreary weather. Auckland was just a base after being on the go in Oz and feeling generally tired and ill (just a cold)
I booked on to the Kiwi Experience bus which is basically a big green coach thats full of travellers and tours New Zealand. I started bu heading up to the very far norh and visited the bay of Islands. A really pretty place and quite unique to the country. I met another really top group of people quite quickly who I am still with. Whilst in the bay I went on a dolphin tour...I saw soooooooo many... about 20 all at once. They were massive(one was over 4 meters long) I was supposed to swim with the dolphins in the wild but the groups we saw all had babies so it was a no go... Gutted but still chuffed to have been so close and see them having fun in the place where they are supposed to be. After the bay of islands it was back to Auckland with the group... We only had one night but it was a good one. We went to the ICE BAR... you guessed it.... Its basically a bar thats made of ice. It was so cool....Literally! Even the glasses were ice as well as the seats and the structure of the building. It was expensive but awesome!
From Auckland we left and headed further down the north island to Rotoroua... Its quite rich in Mouri culture. We went to the thermal springs... This was quite amazing. Basically lots of boiling mud pools and these impressive shooting hot springs out of the ground...quite unbelievable. I also saw a Kiwi bird...they are little and few and far between. They cant fly and get eaten by most other things but they are cute.
Today i went Black water rafting...This started by getting kitted out in a very fetching outfit ( I looked like a sex slave) We named our selfs...The Gimp Brigade. This was so much fun, Firstly I absailed down a narrow opening for about 50 meters. This was a little scary as I was so confined. Once down it was zip lines,Rubber rings,Jumps, Climbs up waterfalls and general caving... The water was soooooooo cold, possibly the coldest environment I have ever been in. This went on for 5 hours and was hard work but so worth it and something I will not forget. We ended with hot soup and bagels.... Yum!
I am now in Taupo. Its a cool place and tomorrow is set to be an adrenelin filled one... Its a 9am start for a Bungy Jump over a really nice lake setting... hopefully going to make me jump! Then at 11 Its Sky Dive time. As most of you know I have done this last year but its one of the cheapest places in the world to do it.... Under 50Quid for 12,000ft. Its a great deal! Pluss i am with a great group and im having soooooooo much fun! There are so many things to do in New Zealand and if i wasn't skint before... I will be after new zealand... All friends and relatives and anyone who knows me... This Birthday(its next month...July 18th) I actually know what to ask for and I can provide a list of activities over here that i want to do ;)
I will report on the Fun soon.
Hope all is well at home. Lots of love. s.xxx
