Sabs x Babes, feels like a long time ago that we talked about your fears and expectations of your trip.....i knew it would be great and you would be fine. Just reading your entries along the way has confirmed everything....thanks for sharing it with us all. As for coming home, its a mixture of joy and lostness. Joy at being home amongst loved ones and lost without planes and trains and new experiences and people.....expect to feel a bit unsettled, and dont be hard on yourself if you feel a bit low and wierd at times and things will be easier. Its just the way it has to be. I had itchy feet for 3 yrs after my 18month jaunt!! every day, no matter where you are has its own adventures and special moments. Still keep your private journal....your a great writer....and its something to share with the grandkids!!! Loads of love....the journeys just beginning xxxxxx

GloandMike Has no-one posted a message since 10th August or has the website gone into Time Warp? Just back from my visit to Chicago and Columbus. Chicago is really great - you should go if you have chance. Feels really safe, there are 'beaches' on lake Mitchigan and a the Chicago river runs right through the city. Columbus is - well - Columbus! There were more staff and security than shoppers in our nearest Mall - but the clothes bargains were fantastic. Think they were just grateful to serve someone. When we were in LA in '96 we did a great bus tour and went back in the hire care at night to Rodeo Drive, Hard Rock Cafe and the Chinese Theatre on Sunset Strip, but felt very unsafe - even in these really popular areas. It was the only City we felt unsafe in though so you should be fine if you keep your sensible head on! When are you next updating your photos? Take care - Lots of love xxxxxxxxxx

GloandMike Thanks for your postcard - Fiji looks great and how about the coincidence of meeting up with old school friends! Sounds like you had a great birthday with all the new mates you've made - did you invite all the island to your birthday bash? Bet it was on the local news!! Glad you liked Vegas - we did! Isn't the food at Circus Circus cheap and plentiful. I remember Mike photographing his plate graoning with food - excellent. And all thr free shows going on in the grounds of the hotels - The Mirage, The pirates - not been since 1996 but would love to go back and this time go to the Grand Canyon - missed it last time. Just woken up to the Terror Threats - which isn't good news as I'm going back to USA on Monday (Thursday today). It is, of course, good news they've disrupted the plot but makes you fear for how much is still going on. Why Oh Why - it's a real tragedy for eveyone. Gather you are on your way to San Francisco now or maybe you've arrived. Don't forget to call to Mike's family if you can but don't feel you have to. Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxx
