Kim's European Journey
I've made an unfortunate discovery too soon on the trip- cider will be my downfall. It goes down like apple juice and has the consistency of champagne. Went to an excellent pub last night. Ted, Nick and I talked with Jen and Jamie from Scotland and they were very interesting.
Earlier in the day, we went to the changing of the guard and Buckingham Palace. We had a pretty good spot, but it was pretty boring. We left after the first set of guards walked in. Then we ran into a group of military men marching, of which Nick wanted to join. Had lunch at a pub where we also watched the US lose to Ghana. We walked around Trafalgar Square (see photo... not mine) and into the National Gallery. The museum is huge and we really only wandered around the top floor. But I saw one of Monet's 12 Train at St. Lazare paintings, which I was very excited about. I also loved their Renoir collection and the few Vermeers.
Time running low.....
