Breakfast was a banana pancake for me! Frankie and Molly had omelette, Rosie had fried eggs on toast I believe, it was delicious, I wholly enjoyed it especially eating it by the beach...We spent the morning on the beach just hanging out and sunbathing! I bought a lovely peacock design zip case for 300 rupees, it was a beautifully stitched design, There was some Sri Lankan women trying to sell us goods such as scarves, sarongs, weaved bracelets and quilted blankets, it was really beautiful, very colourful. I bought a top with a border of elephant prints around the waist and I thought the colour was pretty which was blues, creams and black blended in well with my blonde hair and blue eyes for 400 rupees haggled down from 800 rupees which was cheap! It's about £2 in english pounds. Molly wanted to buy a weaved bracelet and I was quite tempted to buy one, it was 100 rupees each which is a bit steep...All of the sudden she took three bracelets when Frankie distracted her and the woman just walked away none the wiser! So we got it for free haha! Moments later a guy came up to us holding a massive snake wrapped around his neck with a monkey perched on his shoulder. He quoted 2000 rupees for a picture each but I rebuffed that, what a rip off! Rosie somehow managed to get it down to 200 rupees each per animal which would make 400 rupees, I grabbed the opportunity! The monkey was adorable, it kept on holding my finger and posing for the photo! The snake was not so exciting as the monkey but I enjoyed it as the photo looked great with the picturesque golden beach and that great feeling when the ocean water wash on my feet. I wondered whether the animals were being treated well? (I hope so) Emma joined in with us, i asked her why didn't she go with the rest of the volunteers to Galle for the day? She said she weren't really bothered to sightsee and didnt fancy wandering around in the sun. So we just chilled out and went for a swim. It started to rain after an hour so we went in a restaurant called targunga for our lunch and I ordered a vanilla milkshake! It was tasty but it made an dent on my budget at 500 rupees! Ouch. The rain stopped finally after around 40 minutes so we went straight back on the beach and that moment I lay on my sunbed, I felt tired, so I just fell asleep with the warm sun on my skin. It was the most peaceful sleep and I was awoken by some shadows of people walking about, it turned out that the other volunteers decided to come back to unawatuna a bit earlier to catch the last rays of the sun. Sandra was with them so we just caught up with her day and at same time Duffy and Stephen came up from Matara. We talked about films, celebrities and plans, it was interesting conversation but it was really hot so I opted to cool off, Frankie wanted to join me so we dived in the ocean and floated deep in our thoughts....the rest of volunteers came in and all of us just talked and lay there defining the gravity. All of the sudden, a big wave came crashing towards me pushing me to the shore with my bikini upside down! (I suppose I should be grateful it still covered up my private parts!) It was getting dull and cloudy so we went back to the hotel to freshen up. After a lovely warm shower and looking our best, Rosie, me, Frankie, Sandra, Molly, Stephen and Duffy went to the flower garden restaurant, oh my god it was fantastic! delicious food, ice cold drinks and I had sweet'n'sour chicken which was served up in a pineapple fruit as a plate as seen on photo! When we were waiting for our dessert, Duffy couldn't get the fire going on his match for his cigarette so I helped him out and did it in first go, he was like how did you do that...it happened again later in the evening too, Men eh? :-) We all had a great evening, it was a good atmosphere!
