I had my breakfast at a local cafe and it was sad to hear that they were badly affected by the boxing day tsunami in 2004, they have slowly rebuild everything but it appears that it is slow process as the cafe still looked a bit run down with cracks in the walls. My neck was hurting after sleeping in a wrong position, but all that soon faded away when I had a cup of tea! Whole thing only cost me 350 rupees, £1.60! Beth joined in with us which was nice, soon after we all finished, Stephen and Duffy said they had to go after crashing in our room the night before! We went back to the room and then we were on a bus heading for Mirissa beach which was about 25 minutes away from unawatuna. I paid 50 rupees for the bus fare but Beth found out that the Sri Lankan paid only 20 rupees, we are white british therefore they charged us a bit more. The moment we arrived in Mirissa beach I have to say I thought it was okay, it was a pretty beach but it's not so exciting as unawatuna. We walked along the beach and found a few beds empty so we settled down, the weather didn't look so great, very cloudy and you could see a glimpse of grey ones so I didn't swim in the ocean as I didn't fancy getting wet in that weather. I was hungry so i ordered a chocolate pancake to fill me up. After a few hours me and Molly fancied walking down the beach to exercise for a bit and frankie decided to join in with us. Lucy wanted to join too so four of us just wandered down the beach, we took some photos and I loved one particular photo of me, Molly and frankie walking down on our backs, accompanied with palm trees! (Thanks Lucy for taking the photo!) originally Sandra, Frankie and me planned to go to Matara to see the lads school but we couldn't be bothered so we went back with all of other volunteers to unawatuna. Rosie and I sat next to each other along with will and we had an interesting conversation about will wanting to train as a doctor. The evening set in and we went for a meal together, I ordered a chicken korma asking whether it was spicy and the waiter said it wasn't then when I got served up it was obvious it was spicy and I tried a bit but no, my palette cannot cope! I sent it back as it looked like a poo squashed coloured curry style! I had pasta carbonara instead! The restaurant had free wifi so I made the most of it and called Asher, mum and James made an appearance! It was lovely to chat with them after leaving england. I tried to call dad, Nicola and Ashley but no answer unfortunately! Will catch up with them other time....
