Started to pack things this week for our big move south, also Rich's last week at the academy, he received a letter detailing his promotion to 1st Class Constable which gives him 1 stripe on his shoulder, oh and more importantly a payrise !!
Rich was bouncing around the Academy this week, no not drunk again - he is the sucessful applicant for the post in Mandurah yippppeeeeee. This will be soooo good for him and is a nicer station than his original placement, also will be the best plave for him to gain evidence for his promotion. He had a familiarisation day at Mandurah station which was a positive day. He was taken to meet the heads of the District which strangely is the 'Peel Region' of Western Australia. He says that they were good down to earth people say what they see folk, a refreshing change. Rich is 1 of 14 (ish) Officers on his shift and 1 of 3 First Class Constables.
We behaved like a pair of 10 year olds yesterday when finally after a spell of 52 days all of which were over 30 degrees, it rained - we found ourselves staring out the lounge windowas if it were snow !! Not only did it rain , it poured all day and was that heavy it hurt if you went out. On that one day we had 55mm of rain which is more than they have throughout the whole of feb for the past 45 years. was lovely to have it though the ground certainly needs it and apparently we are in a drought here ! This morning though clear ble skies and by 1000 am early 30 degrees again, it is that knowledge that it doesnt last (the rain) that makes all the difference.
really excited now as next week when i do the blog we will be in our new house !
xxx lots of love
