Hip Hip Hooray
Up Up and Away - i picked up my kite from the airport so christmas day is set - he'll nick my kite i'll bet, still i could make him cook christmas dinner !!!
All good on the western front, Rich has succesfully passed half of his exams - he must be cheating !! steep learning curve by his own admission as here you are not just a PC, he is responsible for the custody of any offenders, making the decision whether to charge and if so what wih, by the time he leaves the Academy he will be enrolled on a management course to qualify as a Senior Constable - the UK's equivilant to a sergeant. Shootin and a drivin coming up in the new year - some people work for a living !!!
Still in same house but have requested our container of possessions be shipped out to us, it left UK last thurs. Takes 6 weeks on the water and then a further 3 weeks for x-raying and immigration, this should usually take a couple of days but 3 weeks currently due to mass British invasion - Bloody Poms!!! So we are hunting north and south for a block of land and an unfurnished house to temporarily move into. Where we are has been ok but we just want our own belongings now around us, it has however been handy being so cheap, did i say cheap? that reminds me every morning and every evening we get a plethera of the most beautifully coloured pretty polly parrots in the trees in the garden, and also dumb gallahs on the grass (mutant parrots with pink chests - think they are the aussie equivilant of a pidgeon !)
Birds, - speaking of cat food, look it was like this, there we were minding our own business in Mandurah taking in the pretty sunset as we strolled arm in arm (thats the 3 of us) past the market, with not a care in the world or wanton desire, when out of nowhere came the door to a petshop, despite a valiant effort to walk around the door we were sucked in and forced to save the last remaining lonely, sad, looking cutest iddy biddy kitty we ever did see, apart from Jazzy of course. meet 7 week old 'Oakley' in our pics.
Rich is currently negotiating with Western Australia Police the possibility of changing from Cannington Station to either Mandurah, Bunbury or stations in between both these places are smaller communities and not city suburbs - Bunbury being a cople of hours south is classed as a country stint but dont think there is free housing available. each of these places are on the coast with lots going on and good water sports activities for all of us. Mandurah is 45 mins south of Perth and is very pretty with lots of canals between the houses each with private jetties - aussies best attempt at Venice !! off to Bunbury next weekend to have a scoot round.
anyway keep messages coming is great to hear from you all, hope you are all set for Christmas. missing everyone loads, will be thinking of you and will raise a glass to you all from the beach on Christmas day !!
