I know i have been really slack and not written for a couple of weeks but i have been a busy girl. But as i know u are all chmoping at the bit to find out what i've been up to (yeah u know it's true!! Heehee) i'll tell u all now...
So after leaving Surfers Paradise we headed to Brisbane for a couple of days...and it's true what they say , it really wasn't all that worth going to. It has a rather cool manmade lagoon (due to the fact it has no beach) but other than that there wasn't a lot going on. The lagoon was really cool tho, it looked like paradise beach (in Orlando), it was a bit surreal as people were still swimming at 10pm while we we sitting on the sand watching a movie which was being played on a big outdoor theatre that overlooked the lagoon.
Nat and I also went to check out the Koala sanctuary which was a brilliant day! Off to a rocky start as we nearly missed our bus, but we made it there due to a very kind bus driver. It was really quiet and peaceful there (as there were not that many people), and they had hundreds of groovy kangeroo's and lots of gorgeous koala's as well as a few other animals dotted around, like reptiles, wombats, birds and some farm yard animals. We were able to feed and play with the kangeroo's (well, we played, i think they were jus trying to escapeus!) and of course we got to cuddle of koala which was sooooo cool!! AHH I WANT ONE!!!
And i suppose i should give our hostel a mention as we quite liked it there (except 4 the grumpy staff who closed the tv room at 11!). It had a wicked bar, bbq's every night, nightly entertainment and a swimming pool which had windows so u could see the people swimming!
After Brisbane we headed on up to Noosa. We all liked it here a lot. It is reminisent of Byron Bay, except on a larger scale. And our hostel was also really nice, with friendly staff, a swimming pool and a very popular bar which all the locals seem to come to.
From here we hired a boat for the day with a girl called Jo who we met and the malaysia boys who had caught us up again. It was an amazing day, we actually hired ourselves out a 16 person boat (i know...boat people of been crazy to trust us!) it also had a bbq on it so we bought the booze and the food and we had a bbq party on the boat. We all had a turn at driving, and all of us pretty much got it stuck in the sand at least once as none of us paid any attention to the signs telling us where and where not to go!! oops!
And we tried our hands at fishing as the boys bought fishing equipment with them too. Anne was the only one who caught one, which is ironic since she is petrified of fish!! Dave was gutted, he really wanted to catch one!
We also went to Australia zoo from Noosa which was amazing although a bit sad in lue of Steve Irwins recent death. Although he is still very much alive in that place as he is in pictures and on video screens everywhere..in fact there was even a man in a steve Irwin suit parading around. Of caurse we saw the Croc show while we were there too (which was wicked but would of been better if steve was doing it!) and generally looked around at the animals. I have decided Tazmanian Devils are my favourite now (sorry Koala's), they are so cheeky and playful.
we also did the national park walk while we were in Noosa. This involved a long walk that took you past 5 beachs (including a nudist beach..not an attractive sight! Why is it only old fat ugly men that seem to be on these beachs?!!) and through the bush. It was quite a tiring walk, especially in this heat, but it was worth it as we saw a turtle, dolphins (in the distance) and even a wild Koala! The boys also had made us a massive picnic (well it was about time they contributed something to the group!! Jus kidding boys!) so we enjoyed scoffing that too.
After Noosa we headed up the Hervey Bay (where i am at the mo) which is the starter point for our Fraser Island trip, our 4x4 safari adventure. But i am going to tell you about that in a new entry because there is far too much to say!!!
