Yeah i'm sure you are wondering why we are back in brisbane when we are meant to be travelling up the east coat and not DOWN so i'll explain to you what happened....IT RAINED AND RAINED AND RAINED AND RAINED AND RAINED SOME MORE!!!!!!!!!
The Grey hound that we got on that was supposed to take us to Townsville last week took us an hour up the road, where we sat at a service station for five hours just to be told that the road was closed due to flooding and we had to turn around and come back. So us 7 and Sam and James (two Ipswitch boys who were on our whitsundays trip) booked into Koala's hostel (cos we had had enough of magnums hostel and we heard Koala's had a tv in each room...we later found out it had plenty of mice in each room too!!!!!!) and watched tele and got pizza!!
The next few days we were stuck in Airlie..it had a few highlights, we bumped into Ross and Will (from Uni) and so went out that night and jules and tom also finally caught up with us so it was great to see them but generally everyone was in low spirits because we were trapped in a town with nothing to do in the pouring rain!!
Eventully we managed to get to Townsville (after about a week) but this didn't really solve our problem as we were now stuck in a different town in the rain with nothing to do!!!!!
Me and Jess went and sat in a pub in town on the first day (due to hatred of our tiny room in our hostel!!!) and when the rest of the girls caught us up they told us B.A's amazing idea...we are to go to Adelaide and stay with Rod (AKA Rocket, who we met and carried on seeing from Byron onwards). Aparently this was fine with Rod (sure he's gonna change his mind when he see's what state his house is gonna be in...he's a bit of a clean freak!!!!).
So anyway, we sorted out (after hours of frustration!!) that the cheapest way to do this was to get a bus back down to Brisbane (hence why we are there now), stay a night here then sleep in the airport (to save a nights accomodation) and catch an early flight to Adelaide.
Of course life is neva that simple and after booking our flight and attempting to book our 24 hour bus journey back to brisbane we were told we had ran out of miles on our Greyhound and so had to pay extra any way. Basically it would have only cost a little bit more to fly straight from Townsville rather than catch the bus back to Brisbane and fly from there. But i have chosen not to dwell on that...especially as that hellish 24 hours on an uncomfortable bus in now over!!
So we have one more day here and then off to Adelaide (which is meant to be very very sunny!!! YEY!!!)
Ps we are now officailly more than half way through our journey (by 2 days!!!)
