We spent four days in a campsite just outside of a small town next to the cinque terre called deiva marina. The camp site was amazing, we had a big tent set up for us with proper beds inside, and you could unzip the walls and look up at the italian mountains, or at night pretend that you are sleeping outside. We spent our days walking into town where there was the most amazing beach, surprisingly a lot nicer than the rocky beaches at the cinque terre. The beach was split into a private and public beach by a rope, and after trying unsuccesfully to jump the rope and try to assimilate into the private beach we were asked to leave. We met two fellow travellers, Becca and Luke who were from America who we went to the pub with on Friday and Saturday. We became locals there pretty quickly and were treated to a free round of tenants (10 percent beer!) by the owners. We kept running into and were kept entertained by watching a group of Italian Tweens, a bunch of fourteen year olds who smoked like chimneys and loitered around the pub. We lived off a diet off bread, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes which we bought off the cutest little old lady who ran the general store at the camp site. We almost felt a bit bad stealing her fresh basil which she would sit outside all day guarding, but how could we resist!
