Its 7 am wainting for my oz bus to go to 1770.(well it was when i started this 5 days ago!) I know i keep saying it but the last few days have been amazing. We left surfers paradise on wednesday which was paddys day and one of the guys birthdays who im travelling with. Our next stop was brisbane. We stayed at Bunk which was a great hostel right in the centre of the city. We got free meals most nights which werent the biggest in size but it was free and any thung you can get free when you are travelling is amazing! Being paddys day and charlies birthday we went out that night. Brisbane didnt really seem like a younger persons place from havng come from surfers paradise which clubs all over the place it didnt really match it! All in all we had a great night. The next morining me and alex went for a walk around brisbane. It is a really nice city, has a great vibe about it. I found that they still do villnia coke here...where did that go in the uk!? It wouldnt be a place to go on holiday but like a city break destination...maybe not from the uk! Brisbane is not a massive place, we saw most of in 2 hours. It has some amazing artictecture, which takes me onto the next day. Im sure most of you know that Im taking some photos for Arup of their buildings around the world. I was set up with my own car! It was toyota yaris automactic. I didnt espect to have my own car. It was great to drive around brisbane just seeing parts that yopu wouldnt ordrinarally see when if you where just walking around. Thanks to ben for setting that up..hopefully I have some images you can use! We got to rainbow beach on saturday reading for my fraser island tour briefing the next day. Rainbow beach is very small with not alot to do and even less to do when rains! There was some amazing light when we got there so got some really cool arty pictures. That night I had to say my goodbyes to charlie jerome alex and maria which was sad as I had been traveling with them since spot ex. The next day was weird without the guys but I was with some other people I knew which was nice to have some friendly faces! I had my fraser island briefing and got packed for the fraser island tour which was starting the next day. I was up bright and early for the fraser island tour. I was very excited and nervous as I was one of the named drivers which had to be driving 8 other people around. It was weird driving such a big car and espically in 4 wheel drive on the sand! The 1st stop was dil creek which was just fresh water streem which wasnt too exciting. Then we drove up a bit further to the shipwreak which was sunken into the sand...would be nice to look up at some history when i get home or have some free time. We found our campsite and set up camp for the night which was really fun! We had 2 jeeps and the tents around them. The wirest thing happened! We were all drinking and 2 guys from another camp came up to say hi. I asked where he was from and he said northampton...i was like wow Im in northampton too, He said where from. I was like Yardley hastings and was thinking he wouldnt of even herd of it! Then he said i know some one there...Clare Reeder! No way! Thats my sister! It turns out that peirs is one of my sisters friends and had stayed at my house. of all the places to meet some one, and to meet someone on faser island is amazing! I was soo shocked! The next day we drove down the most crazyest track ever to lake Mc Kenzie...Just wow! It was a fresh water lake, crystal clear water and just stunning. The pictures of it dont do it justice is that stunning! Stayed there all day as it was just soo relaxing. (Its a hard life!) That evening was a clear sky, the amount of stars was just amazing! Im no astromer sum might say geek but it was just breath taking seeing the milky way with no light polution. On Frser island there are lots of dingos. You have to watch out for them as they love to come and find your food! So when ever one came near you had to chase them out sreaming and shouting! Fraser island was just amazing and driving on there was a once in a life time thing. The next stop was 1770 which was for 2 nights, where i met back up with alex and them jerome charlie and maria ready for the cattle ranch in Krombit! The cattle ranch was great fun! It was a change of scenary which was nice not just to see another beach. This was inland at Krombit a working cattle ranch. I made the most of the meat! We had lots of activities to do. I and a few other went quad biking to see the land they had. It was soo vast! They said that they use helicopters to round up the cattle and i could see why! The next activity was, we got into groups of 4 and one had to lasuo the goat the next had to flip it over, the next had to simitation brand and the next had to take it out the ring. I was deligated to lasuo the goat as in pratice i was doing quite well! Lets just say in the ring it didnt go quite so well! I didnt lasuo any goat which ment i had to catch one! So embrassing. I ended choosing the biggest one which was massive and very strong! lol...I think you should just watch the video to see what i mean! Very funny and embrassing! Im now at airlie beach getting sorting for my sailing in the whitsunday for 2 days and 2 nights! Really excited and im sure there will be lots more stories to come! Hope everyone is well back in the uk. Im just over halfway through my trip and if the next half is any like what i have exsperienced its going to be good!
