Rio is the craziest place i have ever seen...buses everywhere, people everywhere, noise everywhere -i don´t think it ever stops!

We arrived late evening to our hostel in Leblon where we are staying for 5 nights before carnival where we are staying in Copacobana. The hostel Lemon Spirit is a gorgeous and very friendly hostel with tons of travellers from all over the world. As our journey here took us so long we crashed out in our dorm, i couldnt communicate with anyone i was so tired. For some reason the israeli boys i had met on the bus thought i spoke fluent hebrew so would speak really fast, i managed the conversation for 4 hours so am still very proud of myself but my god it was exhausting!

Our first day in Rio (today) its raining! But forever the optimists we braved the rain and off we trotted to explore our surroundings. Eventually it did stop raining, just as we stumbled across a bloco - street party. As its so close to carnival everyone is going mad, parties everywhere everyday.

This being our first bloco, and we were so unprepared it took us about 20 mins to get over how crazy it was. Hundreds of people lined this street dressed up in colourful costumes, dancing and drinking away! We were made for Rio!! People can spot us as English from a mile off which is always funny. Brazilian men are very lovely but slightly odd - i had one guy declare his love to me - of course i found this very funny! To get them away we just tell them we have boyfriends - me and kate have made up boyfriends, Lorna has the real deal haha!!

Today being Valentines day and all we did get given a red rose by a man dressed up as a clown - and as im in rio im gonna say that this is the best valentines day to date lol!!

We emerged from the bloco covered in confetti...and smiling from ear to ear. Tonight we are going to hit the clubs of Lapa with some people from the hostel. This is meant to be where the best clubs are so we are very excited.

Meeting so many amazing people, one guy from LA in particular - we´re planning our trip over there asap! haha!!

Loving every second of travelling, although i am missing meat! Need to find me a chabad house and quick. So excited for the rest of Rio...carnival will be immense, and for those of you who didnt know, we are taking part of the parade...costume included! wooop! i`m hoping im gonna get to wear a pineapple on my head haha!!

Will update again once carnival is over and we´re back in Sao Paulo!
