Today we went on a bus tour that took us first through Harlem where we stopped at the famed Apollo Theatre. We saw massive queues of people waiting to go to church - apparently these services have become very popular, which is why we were taken to a small church in the Bronx where we joined a congregation in a Baptist church. Much singing and preaching and quite an experience. Our tour guide was quite a character so it made the ride on the bus quite fun.
We disembarked at Columbus Circle at the entrance to Central Park and walked around. As we had discussed going to the Russian Tea Room at some point we decided to go for high tea which was expensive but lovely and indulgent. More walking around - Park Ave, 5th Ave - past all the high end shops and just taking it all in.
As we are staying close to Rockefeller Plaza we went to Top Of The Rock to watch the sunset. The lift goes up 67 floors on about 43 seconds :-)
Lots of people and jostling for photos but worth it - fabulous view.
