Today we walked the 1.6km length of the High Line - a disused railway line that has been converted into a walkway with gardens and seats. To get there we walked through part of Hell's Kitchen and it was good seeing another area of NYC. Being up high the views from the High Line are great and it ends just above Chelsea Markets. There were a lot of people there as it is Saturday and a lovely day.
After lunch we walked further on to Union Square where we found The Strand book shop - it is pretty cool and boasts 18kms of books.
We continued walking, had a mocha at Max Brenner and then went up through Madison Square Park where there was live music. Then on to Macy's department store for a quick look and then back up Broadway to a lovely Turkish restaurant for dinner.

Kateena I thought Hell's Kitchen was a restaurant run by Anthony Boudain!
