This morning we went for a walk around Odell Park - beautiful old trees and paths laden with autumn leaves.
We then went to a cooking class where we were shown how to make leek-stuffed mushroom caps and quinoa and roasted pepper. And we were given them to eat afterwards - I will be trying both those recipes out when I get home! Liz also drove me around Marysville and showed me her old family home and school etc. And where the post office used to be where she would send letters to me when we were kids!
As we won't be here on the official Canadian Thanksgiving day, Liz cooked a turkey today which we had with veges and I ate fiddleheads for the first time - very nice too (they are a fern-like plant). A bit later Ian lit the fire and Heather made "s'mores". I had heard of these but never tried them - Graham crackers (kind of like a digestive biscuit) with a piece of chocolate on top and then a toasted marshmallow and another cracker. Really good!!!!
