Checked out of my lovely b&b in Barcelona and took a taxi to Sants Station for the train to Paris. I'd had little sleep as I had really noisy neighbours move in the day before who thought they were in a hotel - crashed around the room and slammed doors, had really loud conversations and this was at about 2am. So I was trying hard to stay awake on the train because the scenery was just gorgeous - so green with little villages, churches and farms. I did doze off a few times though. The train station in Paris was a tad confusing but I eventually found the Taxi stand and arrived at my apartment for the next 6 nights. It is ground floor which I deliberately went for as I hate dragging luggage up flights of stairs and not many apartments blocks I looked at had lifts. But this one is great and the owner runs the cafe next door so breakfast will probably be there most days. I went for a walk up and down the streets and tried to get a feel for the place. I stopped and had a quick dinner and tried to ask for a Chardonnay but got a hot chocolate!! Obviously I have work on my French!! Still it was a really good hot chocolate :-) Big day tomorrow - 2 hours in a bus to Burgundy - better get some zzzz's......
