Bangkok for second part of the trip.
So after saying goodbye to a few of our travel buddies it was off to meet our new tour guide and some of our new group. We all meet in the hotel lobby and get introduced to Golf our guide, what an amazing guy, so so nice. We also meet our three new travel companions, Michelle from Canada, Lisa from England and Zoe also from England. We head out for dinner to the same restaurant as we had dinner in the first night we arrived into Bangkok. The night, as always, ends up being pretty eventful, we go to the cocktail bar, AGAIN, and get very drunk AGAIN haha, also ate more insects (what the frigin hell is going on). I ended up talking to two guys who live in Bangkok who were very cool guys, they brought us to a nightclub where there was a bit of a rave going on, very good night and also a very late night which led to me and Lorna being the last to get in, being walked home by the lovely Bangkok guys, one of them feeding me water haha!!
So it’s up early the next day to get packed etc and put the bags into storage and upwards and onwards to the grand palace. So we were told that is only the temples that you need to cover up for so off we went in our tank tops and skirts. After spending ten million hours trying to find the entrance of the place, we arrived only to discover a woman telling us we needed to go and borrow clothes from the “borrowing room” can you believe they even have this...jeez. Anyway, after borrowing a ridiculous looking mans shirt and sarong we began our tour. This place is pretty cool, lots of amazing buildings, paintings etc, def worth seeing. After leaving the grand palace we tried to catch a cab back to or hotel but no one would take us unless we paid them ten fortunes, so after a couple of f**k offs and get bents, we decided to walk, yes even with my septic very sore toe haha!! Now what I’m about to tell you, a lot of people will not believe me because it seems unreal but trust me, it was very freaking real. We kinda got a bit lost and took a wrong turn to find ourselves among hundreds of bikers....was very scary, and we could see them all looking as we walked further and further down the path, and then hmmm yeah next thing we know we are standing right beside the stage of this ceremony. OMG slightly embarrassing having to walk back past everyone, men in like military uniforms, people being interviewed by TV cameras....oh and Lorna is just about to take her camera out and take pictures of the biker men surrounding us hahahaha!!! Do not know what the event was but was something to do with the celebrations of the Queen’s birthday in Thailand!! So by the this time I am struggling to walk, my plasters have fallen off and my toe feels like it’s about to fall off aswell, in so much agony so we had to stop at boots for some plasters and first aid for my poor foot, god bless it!! You will be glad to know that we finally made it back to the hotel anyway, exhausted and not looking forward to the overnight train to Suratthani (south Thailand) :(
Love Neady xxx
