Khoa Sok National Park.
So after a very cruel 13 hour train journey to South Thailand, we arrive at Suratthani and get some breakfast before we get a coach to Khao Sok. When we arrive at Khao Sok after two and a half hours on the bus (so sick of transport by this stage it’s unreal) we jump on a pick up van and it brings us down to Arts Jungle Lodge.....Yipppeeeee we are back in the jungle haha, everyone is very excited, we all discovered the jungle girl/man inside us after our trek in North Thailand. We stay in these little bungalows that are raised up of the ground and out the back of them we have monkeys on the trees, was very very cool!! So after settling in and getting our rooms sorted we head down to the bar bit (literally a wooden lodge beside the river) and we get some lunch and jungle juice hehe!! Some people decide that they want to go elephant riding but most of us go tubing down the river. So we get changed into our bikinis, men included ha, and we head down to the river. OMG that’s all I can say, what an experience. As we are in these rubber rings floating down this river in the middle of the jungle, this torrential rain comes from nowhere and its belting down on us, but it’s warm rain, everyone is just quiet, taking it all in, so surreal. The guys who worked there were great, especially teki, the most beautiful guy I have set eyes on, beautiful smile. I got tipped out of my rubber ring by one of them and couldn’t get back in, after many attempts I took one last jump and my bikini bottoms near fell off so had to get help in the end to get back on. It’s pretty hard to get on when the current of the river is pushing you. So after an eventful day we get showered and ready for dinner that night. Sooooooo hahaha, after a lovely meal of Pad Thai, out comes the pina coladas, which everyone knows, after a few of them things get very messy. So yea to sum it all up, we got to loud, were told to go back to our lodges, with the beers in hand, kidnapped Teki to party with us and ended up back in Simon and Richards lodge haha , music blasting, dancing on the beds, Simon starts letting the jungle go to his head and thinks he is a monkey and swings from the rafters.... Christina and I wanted some FREAKING Westlife on but no one would play it I apparently started being a b**** about it and I still haven’t heard the end of it lol. What a great night. So it’s up bright and early the next morning, fed the belly and off we set on our lake tour. Now when I heard about the lake tour to start, I never realised it was going to be as amazing as what it turned out to be. We had to get a pick up van to the lake where we boarded a little boat...was so cool. Michelle and I sat at the very top of the boat, wind sweeping our hair haha. The boat ride was supposed to take around one hour but, with our luck, it took slightly longer as we broke down half way...great. After finally being rescued and getting the battery changed on the boat we set off again and take in the amazing views, and then turning around a corner to find these little floating bamboo huts...WOW so cool. We pull up to these huts and get off the boat, here we have free time to co kayaking and swimming in the lake. The water is unreal, so clean. We also get lunch here too, big spread of fresh fish, curry, rice, vegetables, fruit, yummy was delicious! After chilling out the afternoon by the lake we board the boat to head back. As we are arriving back to the pier the sun is setting and it’s a perfect end to the tour, we all finish up with a few snaps of the boat with the backdrop of the lake at sunset...perfect. When we arrive back to the national park, we run quickly to get showered and head out for dinner. We go to a restaurant nearby and have delicious pizza and glass of wine, everyone being very satisfied. It’s an early night tonight as we have a 4:30am start in the morning so it’s back to the lodge and off to bed. Wakey wakey, oh my god, everyone is very tired this morning, but trying their very hardest to fight it off because....we are off to the pier to catch the ferry to Koh Samui..... yipppeeeee bring on the islands.
To sum up the national park...brilliant experience and plenty of laughs.
Love Neady xxxx
