Sawatdee!!!
Well after a cruel 11 hour flight from london to Bangkok i finally arrive to my hotel in the big smoke! The weather is very humid! So i arrive to checkin and i am informed that my room mate is already in the room, i was like oooookkkk, slightly awkward, so with my very large rucksacks up I go to my room and there I met carolyn from new zealand! Lovely girl, and so we get talking and find out we are on the same trip! So we all head down for a welcome meeting in the hotel lobby and there we find the rest of the group and we all get introduced! We have the 3 Irish, Carolyn from New Zealand, Lorna from England, James also from England, 2 scousers Richard and Simon, 2 Germans Christina and Simon and last but not least an Aussie, Marty! We also meet our tour leader Sanit!! Awesome guy!
So after the introduction we all head out for dinner and a piss up!! Jeez, what a night! Got my first taste of Thai food, it was yummy, and after a wash down with a few beers we head for the bars =) the famous Khao San Road, wooooo, this place is buzzing! Food cooking on stalls on the streets, mini bars set up on the pavement, lady boys haha its incredible!! After way too many beers, cocktails and who can forget, buckets of cocktails, and remember guys, we serve strong cocktails but don't check ID cards haha, everyone is a little bit worse for wear but the guys decide ( and mum, dad, plz look away at this point you don't want to read ) that they would like to experience the famous ping pong show!! So after trying everything that we could that night, including a fried insect, we thought feck it, lets go!!! Welllllllllllllll, man i wish i had not have went now, i am scarred for LIFE!! I wont go into detail but lets just say if a Thai woman ever offers you a cigarette, refuse, u never know where it has been haha!!! So after that is was home time, a tuk tuk ride home with 5 squashed in, me on the floor hanging out the window, madness, then ZZZZZZZZ!
So morning morning rise and shine, BANG, hangover from hell =(!! Our second day in Bangkok and we head out to the local markets! O-M-G that is all i have to say. The smells, boke, not good on a dodgy stomach! Alive fish everywhere, and when i say fish I mean every bloody type you can think off! Our leader Sanit has us trying everything, from bamboo to the weirdest but very delicious fruit, yum!! After the markets we head off to the temples where we see the reclining buddha and make 73 wishes...yes i repeat 73!! So getting a sight of Bangkok we head back to the hotel to pick up our rucksacks and head to the train station to board our overnight train to Chiang Mai...where the fun really begins =)
So to sum up days 1-2, hmmmm very eventful 1st night out! A city full of culture but very humid, smelly and alot of lady boys lol!!!
Love Neady xxxxx
