I think Jerry is hilarious. I'm not sure if it's the monobrow, his huge smile, or his twitchy little happy dance, but I just look at the kid and laugh. The other day my co-teacher informed me that Jerry's mother is concerned about his development. She's worried that he still acts like a toddler... after all, he's been 3 for a few months now! I think it's much too early to be concerned; I also think most parents would be grateful if their child spent a little longer in the "carefree toddler" stage. Especially kids as happy and well-behaved as Jerry.
In the worst case, Jerry might be a bit slow. Personally I think being extremely happy is a great hand to be dealt, intelligent or not. Smart people are only welcome when they're needed, but you want the happy people around all the time. Not sure if I can explain that to Jerry's mother, but hopefully he starts speaking some English so that I don't have to. So far he has proven very good at repeating words as I say them, but there's no sign of memory or recognition yet. I think he's just amused at the funny sounds I'm making.
