Meet Jerry, possibly the happiest kid I've ever taught. One of my co-workers described him as "toxically cute", and there might be some truth to that. No matter what he does I can't bring myself to use a stern voice with him - I don't want to burst the bubble he lives in. Sometimes it's almost bizarre: I've seen him get shoved over by one of the bigger kids and just burst out laughing, as if it's the funniest thing in the world. Amira, who's sitting beside him in the picture, spend the first month biting his arm every day. Jerry would walk over to me and show me the teeth marks with a big smile on his face, the way other kids do with stickers. He's either the reincarnation of the Buddha or a Chinese version of The Joker.
