My Impressions of India
India has something for everyone; if you want a relaxing spiritual time, if you want to experience something completely alien from home and be thrown into utter chaos or if you want to party!
From my time here I have concluded that the Indian people are very, very hard working and extremely friendly!
You will be stared at a hell of alot but it's never in a threatening way.
I have enjoyed the food immensely and as 80% of the population are Hindus it's a vegetarians paradise! Eating here has been easy - I like that.
I had heard alot of off-putting stories about India before my trip - many of which I did not experience. It may be a little smelly from time to time but you can deal with that.
I think taking things on face value is not always the best way - once adjusted to the culture and the way things are done I have realised difference isn't a bad thing and it's not a reason to worry.
I have loved the fact cows are part of the daily traffic and if they decide to lay down and rest well you just have to go around them. I got used to the bibbing which is a replacement for wing mirrors and indicators - 'just horn ok' is emblazoned on the back of many vehicles. All they need is a bib and they know you're coming up behind them or overtaking.
... India I am coming back for you soon, of that I'm sure!
