We arrived in Jeju Island in the afternoon after just a short flight from Seoul- 1st time in Businness class and it was only for an hour! Bloody typical! It took just over 45 mins to get to the Hyatt hotel and boy were we chuffed when we saw where we would be spending the next 6 days! The hotel was set on a cliff over- looking jungmun beach and jungmun golf course! The views were amazing! Our room had a nice view of the pool and one of the many mountains! In the lobby there was a huge pond with lots of massive Coi Carp- these fishes were smart- they all swam up as soon as you got near the pond expecting to get fed! Ofcourse like all the other kids, Mummy and Daddy bought me some fish food to feed them hahaha! Need to grow up soon! :-)
Anyhoo, so had a wander around the hotel gardens and pool then down to the beach for a wander. We found a wee adventure trail and off we went into the jungle (bunch of trees lol) where we found ourselves on a spider hunt! haha! hilarious! Although I did feel a bit uneasy with the choice of hunt- much more at ease with Sabs! (aka crabs) These are not your average scottish spider- these buggars are huge and yellow! eeeek! We came across some other strange little beasties too- what an exciting day :-) lol! That night we enjoyed a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant, a few beers and ofcourse some card games.
Well had a sleepless night due to the roaring monster in our room- sorry I mean dad! Bloody snoring! He was smart enough to decide to sleep on the other side of the bed so that if I wanted to smack him one, I had to jump out of my bed and jump over mum to get to him! He survived. After an amazing breakfast we grabbed a taxi along to one of the biggest temples in Jeju- Yakcheonsa. Dad decided that it was a good idea to walk home as it didnt seem to far from our hotel! hhhmm after walking in the sweltering heat for about 45 mins and dad gettin alot of abuse, we reached the African Museum (random I know!) so we decided to seek refuge from the heat and have a look around. Luckily I managed to ask one of the girls in the museum to call us a taxi! Takshee Jusaeyo!!! Spent the rest of the day chilaxing by the pool! Heaven!
Sunday and Monday were spent on island tours- totally the best way to see the island theres no way we would have seen as much as we did on our own! Among the sights were: Tea Museum, Jusangjeoli, Mount Sangbansan, Jeongbang and Cheongijeon waterfalls, Seopjikoji, Seongsan Illchulbong (dad climbed to the top!), Manjanggul Cave, THE LIST GOES ON!!!!! Mum and dad also got to try some more traditonal food, they really enjoyed Bulgogi, dad enjoyed his Snapper fish and we had an outdoor BBQ of Dwejee Kalbi (jeju black pig).
Tuesday we went to Hallim Park, more beautiful sights! On the way back to the hotel we stopped of at Hyeopjae Beach which was just amazing! Crystal clear water and bright white sand and a view of Biyang Island! Wish we stayed there for longer but Taxi driver was patiently waiting! At night we went out to see a show at the Theatre in the busy city centre. The show was Nanta and it was incredible! Sooo funny and ofcourse Dad got picked to go up on stage! haha! hilarious!
