We arrived in Hoi An on St. Patty's day. Nho brought us to the top tailors shop in Hoi An where we sat down to look at the catalog. At first both Shawn and I weren't really interested in getting anything made, but within a few minutes we had both picked out several different things. When all was said and done, Shawn got himself a new suit (which looks incredible), a blazer, a spring jacket and a winter jacket. I got a dress, a skirt and two tank tops. All for the low low price of $450 US. I was amazed at how good everything looked and t how cheap it all was. We had our fitting and then the clothes were in our hands by the next day. Insane! We also managed to end up with a few pairs of custom made shoes as well. We spent more than we had planned but got a crazy value for our buck!
We ended up missing out on the great night life and beautiful lantern festival on the river but the afternoon walk through the street shops and along the river was so pretty that we still got to see the main sights and attractions. And once again the food was great. We found an Indian place (Ganesh) for lunch and had some chicken curry and samosas! Needless to say, I haven't been that full since back in Korea!
