After a ludicrously bumpy and turny bus ride we arrived in the mountain-top city of Dalat. Dalat is famous for being the playground for rich French colonialists back in the day.
We got to the hotel, dropped off our bags, rented a scooter and we were off exploring (you got me...pun intended). We came across a big lake in the middle of the city so we parked our scooter and went for a walk. Tamara estimated it was close to the size of Gilles lake (for all you Timmins folk). Along the walk we saw a nice golf course, some grazing horses and a botanical garden. After a good hour we learned that the lake is bigger than we thought. It is 7km around.
Unfortunately, in the evening I (Shawn) started to feel sick. So I went to bed early while Tamara got me some crackers and juice. We can't really say what Dalat is like at night because I slept through it. But we did get to watch a great movie on tv, a few good men!
We woke up at 6am to catch the bus to Muine. I was feeling much better, thankfully, because the bus ride down the other side of the mountain was much worse than the ride up it.
As for me (Tamara) I can't say much else that Shawn hasn't already said. Everything has been great and each city different, but for those interested parties, Dalat is a city that can be skipped if you don't have the time. The bus ride alone was enough to convince me of that! Although I can't complain at all about being on vacation in any capacity, no matter where we are.

Lynda Collins I'm glad Shawn's better. I'm envious, it all sounds better than I had ever thought! Vegas and Arizona is what I'II have to settle for. Mom
deb collins you think that bus ride is bad ... we (your mom, dad, mike and me) drove through a snow storm in Arizona on our way to Sedona -- great to see your blog, what a trip you guys are having. We'll keep your mom and dad busy for another week yet. love Deb and Mike
