A quick trip to Gweru town for more supplies and finally sending off my postcards - lets see how long they take to arrive. A lazy, relaxing morning sitting in the sunshine working on my African tan. What a funny sight it would have been watching Bec and I canoeing across the lake - zig zagging across, then in circles in the opposite direction to where we wanted to head towards. A fresh wake up at 430 this morning to head up to the breeding program to hear up close the dawn "roar off". I'm not sure if it was the freezing wind and the lions were also feeling it but they let us down and only performed a token chorus for us. Ah feeling human and raring to go on our 6 hour walk with Paza and Penya. The long walks are for the cubs to get used to the bush smells and practice their hunting skills. Oh my head hurts! Thank goodness I was able to have a little sleep in as I was joining the community project team for the day. Visiting the Mkobo Clinic which runs a maternity ward, baby monitoring, an outpatient clinic, TB and HIV treatment and a small dispensary. What a contrast to our hospitals! A fresh start to the morning though soon warmed up with my morning walk with Penya and Paza who were quite playful and mischievous.
