It is hard to believe I have been here for almost a month. I am so excited for the weather to warm up and flowers to bloom but I want time to slow down! This past weekend I had the chance to explore the Netherlands a little more. For one of my classes, we took an all day bus trip and managed to stop in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and a small little village on an island. It was really neat to see different parts of the Netherlands, however my heart remains in Groningen. I haven't seen a city that I like better then where I am living. I put up pictures of where we went so check them out.
At one time we had the option to walk around on our own. Our professor told us that if we wanted to go see the light house to give ourselves 20 minutes to get there and 20 minutes back. After getting some coffee and wandering, we thought we could make it there. It may have looked a lot closer than it actually was. We thought we could take a short cut back seeing that we only had ten minutes until the bus left. We thought we had out smarted everyone until we remembered we were on an island. Our bus was in eyes sight ... but across the water. So we had to walk all the way around. I wish I could say that was the first time we had held up a bus. Overall it was a great day but a lot of time sitting on a bus.
Now that I have traveled around the Netherlands I am ready to explore more. On Thursday, I am heading to London. I thought it may be a good idea to travel somewhere where they speak english first. I will be sure to post lots of photos when I return on Sunday. Lastly, on a sadder note, I am without my bike for a couple of days. I went to to get on today and realized the front tire was completely flat. I took it to the bike shop and it is being fixed. It was hard walking away from my most prized possession here, but I will see my bike when I return from London : )
