Only a week and a half left before my stint here in Ireland comes to an end. It's very bittersweet. I'll be extremely excited to get home and see everyone, but at the same time I'm not really ready for my trip to end.
This week I've been working hard on my senior portfolio and getting the last week of lessons all ready to go. I'm still very nervous for my last observation, but there's not much more I can do to prepare. I'm as ready as I'll ever be for it and that helps calm me a little. Yes organization and preparation are calming techniques, who would have guessed?!
Because of the chilly and rainy weather in their trip, only about half of my first years made it to school today. The rest took a long weekend to recover and nurse their colds.
The school has been doing an anti-bullying campain throughout the year and Mr. Sinnot took todays class to talk about bullying and what it means to the kids. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many kids asking questions during the class. They were really interested in undertanding what was considered bullying and how you can and should intervene when you see bullying happening to someone else.
I did get a chance to preview what we were going to be doing next week. They seem really excited for the review game, so fingers crossed all goes well. They are also extremely excited about some party they seem to be under the impression we're having. I told them since Mr. Sinnot would be taking back their class at that point, it's out of my hands!
