After a about 4 hours in the JFK airport and another 6 hours on the plane, we made it to Dublin, Ireland at about 5:20 Ireland time. With all the excitement and nervousness, Ashley, my travel companion, and I weren't able to sleep at all on the plane.
When we arrived at our house, we went right to sleep. We woke up at about 4 pm, I guess we were more tired than we realized. It would have been about 12pm when we woke up back home. We were able to talk a bit with Carmel, I guess you could call her our house mother, and eat some dinner. It's strange eating dinner when it's lunch time back home, and you just woke up so it feels like breakfast.
Once we were unpacked, or as unpacked as we could be, and more settled I felt much better. Ashley and I are sharing a room. It's like we're back in the dorm, but at least here we have our own bathroom.
I got to go see my school and meet my cooperating teacher teacher today. He seems really nice and laid back, and the school is great, just a 5 minute walk through a park away. It'll be quite a change to have 13 year olds when I've been so used to juniors and seniors. Hopefully I'll get used to them quickly since we have 2 weeks of school, then their on holiday for 2 weeks, then back for 3 weeks before I leave.
I hope this experience doesn't go by too quickly, although I will be excited to get home, see my family, and graduate.
Tomorrow is my birthday, and where else would I want to spend it but a castle on the cliffs of northern Ireland.

Henry Milne Shannon, Sounds like it's going to be interesting! Believe me, 13-year olds are nothing like juniors and seniors, but they can be a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy it.
Cate An extra new experience to add on to your rapidly expanding resume...8th graders!
