We got up early today to head to the sculpture of David, it was only 10 minutes walk from our hotel. The museum had a lot of old paintings from various artists in it including one by Picaso. The actual statue of David is very good it is extremely detailed and to our surprise extremely big at over 5 meters tall!! After venturing to the museum we went and found our car in the back alleys where we had given a man the keys the night before. Luckily it was still there and we were able to continue our trip towards siena.
Siena is a real medieval type town where all of the buildings and streets look really old and it has a huge world heritage listed square out the front of the church. The square is fully paved and massive, you can really see where and how the kings, queens and knights would have paraded around a thousand years ago! The only problem so far in Italy is the heat! In the car today we saw the temperature reach 44 but it hung around the 40 - 41 for most of the day which makes it really hard to explore these towns for a long period of time.
After Siena we drove a couple of hours to the outskirts of Rome where we are staying for the night and had a relaxing night in the aircon. Wooooo hooooo
