After a long delay in the Philidelphia Airport, I arrived in Madrid on Wednesday, the 30th. During the trip I met some pro basketball players playing in NBA Europe, we exchanged numbers and hopefully I will see them play soon. The weather was terrible, and hopped on the metro to Sol (the center of the city). After wandering around in the rain for a while, I finally found my hostel and relaxed for a bit while Dan was on his way over. Dan showed me around and it seemed like we walked the entire city. Little did I know that Madrid is nothing short of massive! We indulged in some local cuisine (tapas, calamari sandwiches, and later a dish with french fries, eggs, and spanish ham). After walking around for a while we met some of Dan's friends at a bar in Sol called Dubliners. It was a typical Irish pub and his friends were really cool. I decided to call it a night early as I was exhausted and wanted to be well rested for the festivities that lay ahead.
